HOUNDSTOWN

CAROL MOTSINGER
I have been promising Carol that I
was going to set up a page in Houndstown dedicated to her artwork for MONTHS.
Well, it is finally coming to fruition. I honestly can't say enough good
things about Carol and her artwork. She works mostly in pastels, but also
uses some other mediums on a limited basis. My impression of her work has
always been astonishment, at the realism of emotion and feeling. I have
always been able to see what the subject was thinking and feeling at the time.
This is seen best by my wife and I in the recent piece of one of our greys,
Prefontaine.
Pre is sometimes a little hard to figure out. Quite often aloof, he
prefers to spend his mornings and evenings snoozing by himself in our bed.
During the afternoons, though, he is usually more vibrant, and loves nothing
more than to RUN and CHASE. We caught a photo of him about 4 months ago at
a friend's house while he was observing his surroundings from his sofa vista.
We sent it to Carol, and she did her magic, and got it to us in about a month or
so. I knew she would do a good job, and that it would look just like him,
but I can't describe the emotions I felt when I looked at the piece for the
first time and could "feel" Pre. A piece of his soul is in this portrait.
I am so glad that we decided to get this piece done, and we are actively working
on a good photo of our other grey, Justin, to have done to add to the
collection. You never know how long your beloved pets are going to be with
you, and I urge everyone to have a portrait done by Carol so that your pet may
live forever in art.

I only have one example of Carol's work,
but I think it speaks pretty highly of her immense talent! The picture of
the pastel is a little blurry, but that is the camera's fault, not Carol's!
