HOUNDSTOWN
Dr. Prefontaine and Justin McDoogle
That's a lot of name, huh?? Only because they are a lot of dog!! Let me tell you a little about my boys.
We adopted Dr. Prefontaine almost 2 years ago. He is the poster child for greyhounds as pets! He is a Molotov boy, with proven dam lines, and raced grade A at Tri-State. Loves to run, and loves to sleep. He ALWAYS does as he is told, loves to walk, never barks, is friendy to kids, cats, and little furry creatures (yet maintains an unbelievable prey drive!!), and looks the part. He, of course, goes to ALL the meet and greets to represent the breed.
Then there's Justin. Where do I even start with this crazy boy....Justin comes from questionable Irish bloodlines, and it shows!! He raced AA at Lincoln and Orange Park, and was only 0.10 off the track record when he retired. But here's the problem-Pre knew he was racing, and Justin was merely using racing as a way to expend energy. So then he is retired into an adoption kennel. Well, he is now not racing, and not training, so he isn't getting his daily energy release. So when someone wants to look at a retired racer, he bounds out of his crate and nearly knocks them down!! Needless to say, no one wants a dog that they cannot control, and he sat at PRH for around 18 months. During this time, Stacey and I saw him a couple times a month, and finally took pity on him and brought him home. He has made miraculous steps toward improvement. Is he a good dog? Not really, but he is now tolerable!! Anyway, I think his pictures (not too many yet, we haven't had him for very long) will give you an idea of his personality. If nothing else, he is a good source of entertainment!!
Well, without further ado, here's the boys!!
