The Anorak is a new heavy winter coat designed for sight-hounds by the staff here at Houndstown.  As such, it is available only through our website and certified Houndstown retailers.

Lined with Polartec’s® new Thermal Pro® fleece, The Anorak is perhaps the warmest coat on the market.  According to Polartec, the Thermal Pro line is “the most technically advanced of the Polartec insulation fabrics, achieving the utmost versatility and performance under extreme conditions.”  However, the additional warmth does not come at additional weight, leaving The Anorak perfect for short-haired greyhounds.

The outer fabric is a highly durable, 400 denier, pack cloth nylon that is DWR treated to protect against wind and rain.  The coat simply slips over the head, and the belly band comes up to fasten at the side by industrial strength buckles and nylon webbing, adjustable for a secure fit.   A 2-inch leash opening is integrated into the snuggly turtle-neck collar for comfort and ease of walking.

For safety, we added 3M Scotchlite® reflective piping around the neck and at the backline.  For style, we included a stand up collar at the base of the snood, giving The Anorak that high quality, designer touch without the custom designer price tag!

Most importantly, the fit of The Anorak carefully follows the contours and curves of the unique greyhound silhouette, which translates easily into other sight-hound breeds as well.
